5 Things I Learned in 2020 (Part 3/5)

“Fear is like a bicycle with no seat; it hurts like hell and takes you nowhere.”

For my whole life, fear has kept me from taking chances. From taking risks.

If I feared something (pain, rejection, failure, being wrong, etc.), I didn’t take action. Sure, sometimes my fear may have protected me. But how many other times did it keep me from experiencing something amazing?

Because of my fear, I would never have called myself “brave.” To me, brave meant that you didn’t have fear.

But bravery does NOT = fearless!

As one of my coaches says, you can “be afraid, and do it anyway.”

Bravery is the bicycle seat that allows you to stay on top of your fears and bring them along for the ride down the mountain.
